| 2:25 pm | Garden Shows are My Favorite The other day I was visiting my aunt’s house and after chit chatting with my cousins, I wondered where my aunt was. Usually she would be the one bustling in to make sure I was comfortable and well fed for the whole two hours that I was there. She would complain about how I never visited and even though I was “healthier” than ever she would scold me for losing “too much” weight. None of that happened this time which prompted me to inquire about her whereabouts to my uncle. My uncle replied by saying, She’s stuck to the tube. They have some design program on TV”. I went into the room that my aunt was and surprised her and naturally she showered me the reaction that I mentioned above. I glanced at the TV and saw a beautiful sight which I later come to find out was a “garden spinner”. My aunt was watching a show that was focusing on outdoor garden decor. To be honest that was a full swing away from the type of shows that I normally watch. Due to my aunt’s insistence and my inability to give a negative answer I decided to join my aunt and be a cheerful spectator to the garden show.  wind garden spinners As I started watching the show, since I had nothing else to do, my interest in the things that the show was focusing on began to peak. The host of the show who seemed very enthusiastic in what he was displaying caught my attention. This week’s show was strictly focusing of different ways to make a garden look appealing. It was amazing to see the host transform a beat up, junk filled garden into this luscious green paradise. I might have gone a bit too far in my description there, but the transformation was spectacular. All it took was some proper planning and a well planned out budget. They host and his crew picked a lucky winner to have their garden transformed. They cleared out the garden from junk, weed, trash etc and brought it patches of really green grass to assemble in the cleared out garden. After neatly laying out the grass, they lined the side of the garden with red bricks to outline the portion that was going to be planted with different kinds of flowers and a garden spinner in each corner. Watching the show got me thinking about how I wanted the front yard to look spectacular just like they made it in the show. Green layers of well cut grass that is neatly laid out like a carpet in front of your house looks appealing to anyone – especially with added accessories like a garden spinner!! IT was amazing to see the final product of what the host and his crew had done to the garden that once looked like a dump. I can definitely say that I will be watching more home/garden decor shows although I won’t be adding to my favorties list. Needless to say, I was coerced into helping my aunt redo her front lawn!!! |
